    I just busted out laughing about your ex trying to get the judge to "make you finish it" for him. Hilarious....& glad the judge thought it funny too...I like the quilt--and you get to practice on an actual quilt. You can practice on each actual block rather than make a practice sandwich of batting and fabric. Glad you got to keep the quilt....your practice stitches are great.

    I love the story of this quilt and your quilting! I would never be able to give it away. Let your kids fight over it when you join the great quilting bee in the sky.

    Your quilting is impressive! Very nicely done, neat stitches, even, and great freehand motifs. And the quilt is very pretty, too; I can see why your ex wanted it, even as an "ex". (Loved your story, by the way; judges hear some incredible requests at times.)
