    Sorry you are having FW troubles...I have had the same with both machines I bought and my FW girls can be very fussy, but when I have done everything right and they are happy they sew FANTASTIC!!!!

    Hang in there and that was a good idea keeping a thread picture front and center because they do thread differently. When I get in a hurry I always thread wrong and they sure let me know about it!

    She is back from service and cleanng and sews like a charm! Thank you for all of your help.

    These machine has to be greased as well as oiled, have you done this. And have you taken the throat plate off, if so you have to get the bobbin place just so or you will not be able to sew at all. I know this from experience. Yes and the needle is thread from the side. I have 3 of these machines. Hope this helps.

    I keep a stick it note in my 221 case to remind me the needle position flat to the left, and threading needle right to left. This way when I pull her out it tells me what to do...
