Somebody will love it. Background kind of fights with the rest of it.

I think the maker should leave it as is - it's a Halloween tiered cake - with a flying witch topping it - and - it is busy - but it does work in a Halloween sort of way.

I thought candy corn too! I think it would be better for Halloween that way instead of a tree. It works well for the
    theme!

Please finish it anyway. It will be a shame to leave it after all the time and effort you've spent on it. You may like it after it is quilted. And even if you don't like it, you can donate it to someone in need who will treasure it.

Glad you decided to leave it as a cake... the tree theme just didn't seem to go with Halloween. It's crazy and chaotic... just like halloween.

I agree you will like it better after quilting. Do finish it. You could do some really cute quilting on this... like an outline scribble in white to outline the edge of the cake and make it stand out from the background. I'd go around it three or four times without putting the stitch lines directly on top of each other, for that 'scribble' effect. Then you could quilt some scallops along some of the 'layers', like frosting on the cake. This could be adorable.

Now, if you want to go cake with this a little shopping might be in order. I would look for some narrow acid green lace ribbon and scallop the tiers of the cake, just because at Halloween, more is more. It is a fun project.

Don't rip. Just appliqué a trunk. Sooooo much easier.
