Thanks for all the sweet words! What a joy it is to be part of such a friendly group of quilters!

To answer DJ, yes, the hummingbird design and some of the other quilting on the bag are machine embroidery. On the back are several leaves that are hard to see against the busy fabric (not just in the picture). I did some free motion echo quilting around them to fill up the space. The hummingbirds were from a toile design I found on Embroidery Library. I love them because they are very realistic and life size. I've stitched them onto several projects already. They are only part of the design, which includes a flowering branch. I need to figure out something to use the whole design on, but meanwhile, the birds make me smile every time I see them, and I hope my SIL will like them as much as I do. I wish Embroidery Library would include the name of the designer in these digital downloads because I would definitely be looking for more of this person's work.

Very attractive fabric and color choices. Meticulous stitching.

Very pretty bag! I don't see where it matters which way the back is facing. If the hummingbirds on the front were upside down, that would be a different story....

Looks fine to me. Don’t point out “errors” to others and they will never know. ESPECIALLY if you are gifting it to them. :-)
