Ice, I love your escaping geckos. And yes, there is a cobweb or 10 in my house. I call them my perpetual Halloween decorations.

    Mumto2,

Where did you find the Harry Potter quilt patterns?

I am taking a Harry Potter English course at Uni and would love to make something for my professor. Perhaps a cushion or small lap quilt. I would be making it next year.

What a fun class! The place to start for the Harry Potter Bookcase Quilt is here http://www.fandominstitches.com/2015...ilt-along.html. These are pretty much all FPP with really tiny pieces as they are 5 inch blocks. Eventually I will probably tackle this so I have downloaded the ones I like into my files. Last year I made some mug rugs from the Dr. Who part of this website that were pretty popular.......

I do have far quicker twin sized quilts planned for my kids and a friend’s mainly using blocks from some recent HP quilt alongs. Of course the idea of turning out four similar quilts in quick succession takes the fun out of it and I have stalled before I even bought the background fabric! One is at Sewfreshquilts https://sewfreshquilts.blogspot.com/...long-2019.html and the other is at Seriously I think it needs Stitches https://sewfreshquilts.blogspot.com/...long-2019.html. I have used both designers patterns in the past.......

Cats8......Your bookcase is wonderful! Your niece will love it!

I took today off from quilting. I have started making the vertical books and have a stack of 40 or so to sew together. I have 10 objects ready but think I probably need two more and may do the HP wand and a mouse to finish things off. Unfortunately I have no photos and if I ask the surprise will be spoiled. I think I will assemble a couple of shelves before I make the extra bits and see how things look.

I just found out that that my friend who will be receiving the other quilt will be at my house for her birthday which changes things as I now have an extra two months. I may make a twin size and use it for her bedspread. She is much easier because she has had so many pets and I have photos to make photos.
