I like Turning Twenties quilt block. It is similar to Yellow Brick Road.

One of my favorites (among others already mentioned) is Wickedly Easy. I've only made one which is for our king size bed, but turned out beautifully. It's a free pattern and uses fat quarters.

Checkerboard! Two fabrics, strip piecing - it goes fast. It's classic and always looks good.

My favorite is "Crazy Eights". I have made several of these for baby quilts.

What a great idea for a picnic quilt!

My actual favorite is the plain 1 patch (I think that is the name) 5 or 6 or 8 inch squares, sometimes coordinated sometimes scrappy. Make any size from crib to lap to bed, add a border in proportion to the square size. I have several around the house, many for gifts. Three charm square packs with a coordinating border are perfect for a generous lap size. I love charm square packs with the coordinating colors. I recently donated one from charm squares to a charity auction, it was very popular & sold many tickets. For some reason those simple quilts bring me comfort and those who have received them as gifts have told me over the years how much they use the quilts. Maybe it is the nostalgia of simpler times, I just turned 80 years old and remember those days.

With the Creative Grids and BlocLoc Pineapple block rulers I can make a throw size quilt top in about 3 weeks. It's really easy but looks hard, and they're fun to make.
