    I also wondered what Satina was. I found a few images on Google; the package said, "Ironing Aid", "Makes Clothes Smell Fresher" and "Makes Ironing Faster". Here's a picture of the back of the package.

    for starch i use a solution of cheap vodka and distilled water. has to be distilled water since has no chemicals to stain fabric while ironing.

    Wow! I never heard of Satina. My mom used starch. She'd starch my dad's shirts then roll them up and put them in the frig overnight then sprinkle with water (she had a special sprinkling bottle for this) and iron.

    Ohhh I remember that special bottle! My Mom had one too. She ironed my Dad's shirts the same way your Mom did, Cash's Mom!!
