I found a Janome and a Brother under $1000 at a quilting store. Any advice?
    Hey, same pinch!!

I also have Janome and was also looking for a board like this. I used that sewing machine in my boutique and now I have started my blog as well.

if you can find one with a 9" throat or longer, plus accufeed, for under $1,000 snap it up.
@patricej I am considering either a Juki or Janome machine (Juki DX7 or above or Janome 9410 or similar - would consider 6700, tried the M7 in a store once, I liked that machine). I was wondering why you prefer Janome over Juki - as you have both brands? I currently have no deals for either brand closer than 2 hours (and haven't called those shops to see which machines they actually have to demo). I don't think I can find anyone who sells Juki machines within what I would be able to drive.

I don't have a juki. I have janome and brother machines. People I know who own juki are pleased with that brand. i can't think of a reason to criticize that brand. not sure juki offers any feature similar to accufeed, though, which is a "must have" for me.

if you can afford an M7 you'd love it for sure. the 6700 would also be a great choice if it's a better fit into your budget.

I sure did like the M7 in the store when I tried it out a few years ago! Just don't like the price, really arguing with myself about that part. I think a Janome 9410 or 9450 falls in that same price point. I am glad to hear more positive feedback on Juki, most of what I read is positive. I believe I will end up with either a Juki or Janome. I'll have to call the couple of dealers within 2 hours of where I live and see what machines they have on the floor. It's been a long time since I have demo'd a Juki, that alone gives me great pause. Though I hear wonderful things about Juki Junkies. I appreciate your response!
