    Hi annia,
yes i remember Hildalgo well. all the beautiful ceramics there.

as for a quilting teacher, you could see if Fame has quilting classes. I taught painting through Fame when i was living there.
I also volunteered at a home for girls and boys called "Posada de Maria". it is still in operation but has since changed location. The idea was to teach the girls sewing (lots of quilting) as a way to get secondary income while they attended school. eventually most of the 13 girls got through college. They were girls from the countryside who would not ordinarily have had this opportunity. They now have a new crop of kids. It was very rewarding working with them and I remember those days with such fondness.
it's fun to talk to somebody so close to my ole stompin grounds! I picture you there in the nice sunny weather. (I am in cold michigan.) :)

Kitty, you're going to love it here. I'm a new quilter, too, from California. You know the saying about a picture being worth a thousand words? It really applies here. I get so many ideas just looking at everyone's quilts, my mind is on overload most of the time!
    Welcome, welcome, welcome

Kittyq would you mind showing us some of your progress?

We had a lot of fun watching barnbum getting her barn quilt together.

    Kitty,

Franklin in south of Indy!!! I guess it depends on how far south you are, but there is a NEAT quilt store in Greenwood - The Back Door - if you want to check it out... I've been there once, but will go again once I get back to IN - I live in FL now and get up there once a year or so...
