Take your stuff and let your mood guide you once you are there. If you leave it all home you will want it and if you bring it you will be covered either way. As you can see, I always plan for the unexpected. Never want to be caught without handwork or a book.

Sorry - hate to be the dissenting vote here, but this is your better half's day, not yours. You should not only be at the staring line, but also see if you can find ways to be at various points along the run to cheer her on. That's my opinion.

Is there a reason why you can't do both? Google the area for LQS's before hand, take the machine with you. Go to the quilt stores and then if you have time you can still work on your quilt. Usually a good or large fabric purchase really gets me in the mood to sew.

So, do you have a battery operated machine? If so, this would work too. just kidding.

I agree 100%........... You should be at the starting and finishing line. You might never get to see it again, life is short. My DD was suppose to run the Chicago Marathon this past year. After her brain injury who knows if she will ever be able to do it. Don't sew, don't go to LQS be on the sidelines and just enjoy the moment.
