I have a question, if we purchase FQ's and after washing and drying they won't be 18 X 22, there are bound to be discrepancy's even with good quality fabric.
So this is to be yardage cut to FQ size only?

I believe that in order to be fair to everyone the answer has to be yes. I know that some of ya'll are going to object to this and find it unfair but that is something I cannot help. Having 'strict' measurements on the fat quarters makes it more fair. How would you like to send in an 18 x 22 and get back less than what you sent in? Make sense now?

FQ measurements are usually 18x22, unwashed from the store. I think the measurement for this swap should be changed to 18x21 to give participants a little lee-way because they are prewashing the fabrics. I can't participate in this swap right now but I teach a couple of classes to a Sr. Ctr. on different things to make out of FQ's and have found that I had to change some of the patterns measurements because of the shrinkage when prewashing. Just my opinion/suggestion.

Please don't think that I am trying to be difficult, I was just making sure that I understood the rules, as well as our new quilters :D:D:D
If we aren't using out of our stash, we would need to purchase 5/8 yd cuts, to accomodate shrinking in the length, to cut out one FQ @ 18" X 22".

I will be the first to admit when I am wrong about something and in this case I will admit to being too stubborn and wrong about the measurements. I am going to go in to the rules section and change as soon as I finish this post. The FQs should be cut as close to 18 x 22 as possible but if they are a little shy then we all understand the reasoning behind that. Forgive my stubborness and let us enjoy the rest of this new swap.

Do we send a mixture of colors or can we send like 5 fat quarters the same and get 5 different ones?

ReRe, I think you're great for hosting this swap and I know everyone will have a good time. I can't join this one but am looking forward to the next one. Thanks for doing this.

Specify what you want in your package and I'll do the best I can to fill what you want. Know that I can not always be able to fill these requests.
