When I need a unique way to discipline my students, I will often give them "The Paragraph" -- their term, not mine! It really causes them to have to think about what they are writing. They are told how many times they must write the paragraph (usually once or twice), that it must be written in cursive, and that they cannot correct any spelling. I had one student return his paragraph the following school day, and he exclaimed, "I don't ever want to do that again! It made my brain hurt!!!"  Shortly after that a student was misbehaving, and the former student said, "Dude! Trust me!! You don't want the paragraph!!!" Now whenever I need a student to behave, all I need to ask is, "Would you like the paragraph?" Their immediate response is always, "No. I'm good!" Humor goes a very long way in discipline.

There should not be any doubt that everyone on this board can pass "the test"....after all, we are a smart group and if you have any reservation about it, just ask us! Right?

I did much better on this go-round (although I had to close one eye & muddle through some of the lines)

I can whip through that last paragraph with no problem. Maybe it's because I'm left-handed & my brain is used to turning things around...
