    Hey swappers -

My candies went out in today’s mail. Hopefully the trip up I-75 will be quick and they will arrive before we turn the calendar.

Spring has definitely arrived in east TN. I’ve been enjoying a walk at lunchtime most days. Not much quilting happening but I have a start on a quilt for my brother and his GF. I’m hoping to post it finished in the next few weeks.

Thanks for the swap updates everyone and the messages about project in progress.Good to know our dear little squares are being put to use.

I decided to not do my quilt in quarters but rather in rows. Good progress and more in the near future.

Hello everyone! I realize I'm posting late in the evening for 2.5 day but here is a picture of one of the two tops I made with candies at retreat last weekend (the second top is the same idea - mix of colorful 9-patches but not posting because they basically look the same although the fabrics are different).

I'm also sharing pics of other things I did at retreat: a lunch bag, and a charity quilt made of 9" blocks of swirly fabrics. That was from a kit rejected by another guild member so my zoom sewing group rescued it and made the blocks and then I sewed them together.

Hmm. Let's try that again; the pictures didn't show up like I expected! Still a newbie....

LAF2019, Pamelor, and WMUTeach, thanks for sharing your quilt photos. Very cool looking quilts. WMUTeach, I have made that pattern before but totally scrappy and I like how you are doing one main color. That might be a good way for me to use some of the candies I receive when my birthday rolls around!

Julie G. I think I have a piece of the fabric in your lunch bag. It is so cute and seems to please the modern mom who like gray but still leans toward cute little critters, fox and owl. I am sure I picked it up for a baby quilt but never used it or did not use it all.

The color choice for my current 2.5 quilt is based only on an abundance of "fall" fabrics. I did a bit of sorting and organizing a few months back and discovered that I have three bins of this color way. 2026 just may be the year of "fall" while I try to reduce this collection.

I am off to enjoy a lovely day with the windows open and fresh breezes clearing out the stale air. I am thinking ZuZu will love it too, because she can listen to the birds and watch the squirrel zoomies just a bit closer.

My candies are back in the mail. I even got stamps on the envelope!

Sorry I’ve been I bit MIA but it’s been a tougher few weeks than usual and I’m a bit scatterbrained. DH broke his ankle and I’ve had to pick up a lot of jobs he would normally do. Turnaround is fair play since he did the same for me last year when I had knee surgery. I realize he’s been pulling more than his fair share since we moved to WNC. Time to even out the load once he’s back to walking without his boot.

Hope everyone is going to have a happy weekend.
