I borrowed a quote, or rather a near quote from the
See Dick series.

I made my son a quilt. He enjoys playing cards, so this was a gambling quilt for his card room.

His name is C. Frederic and here is the center of his quilt...

I grew up with Dick and Jane books too. I love your collection. I would use a pattern for large prints to show off the FQ's. :-)

I made a Turning Twenty out of my Dick and Jane fabrics several years ago. The larger pieces showed off the pretty prints of this fabric very well.

I am a product of Dick and Jane (my parents names), my mom grew up reading Dick and Jane, she taught us my brothers and sister to read using the Dick and Jane series. Here's what I did with panels my mom had gotten. The quilt is used as a seat cover in a Ford Model "A" Dick and Jane drive around.

I collected this fabric for quite some time and made my DGD a quilt for Christmas a year ago. She loved it! I think I've posted it before, but I'll put a couple of pic's on here.

It turned out I liked the back as much as the front.

If you make a book, as suggested, write a simple sentence on the opposite page.
There is a reading method that is quite successful whereby an adult talks w/and asks the child about the picture. The child makes a sentence...short...and the adult write(prints/manuscript) it.
I've worked with children with very large reading disabilities and this method got them started reading.
If a child doesn't have a reading disability, even if they are very young. IF they seem interested...they will "read" the sentences. You are getting the idea that words on pages say "things" and they LOVE it!
