These Sassy bags are so easy. I have made at least 10 of these bags for gifts and for myself. They are perfect when you go on a trip or a quilt show because you can put the strap over your neck and then hold the bag close to your body. Very safe when traveling any where. These are two I made for Christmas presents a few years ago. The buttons are different colors. You just can't see it in the picture. I have even embroidered a design on the flap on some of them. Try them! They go together really fast.

I have a question about zippers in purses. I understand they're easier to work with on purses as opposed to skirts and dresses. I've got a built in aversion to them from early garment days.

What are your thoughts about using velcro small strips for small zippered pockets?

Emmy, thanks for the link to this site. These bags are so much more simpler than the ones I've been making, so it will take a lot less time.

That sounds like a plan to me. I have seen smaller purses - with small type pockets that actually had velcro instead of the zipper. The Lazy Girl Bags, some of them have the velcro and some styles have the zipper. But, if you watch a video, she demonstrates how easy it is to incorporate a zipper onto a purse. It did not seem that hard to me - atleast the way she did it.

I have made dozen's of the Lazy Girl purses but most were Gracie. She makes it very easy to understand.

Sculpyfan... Your Gracie bags turned out great! The one with the money fabric is so funny. I could imagine you walking down the street in New York, and a mugger sees your bag and thinks, "Hmmm, looks like she's got what I need!"
