Greenini, I was at one of the fabric shops in Augusta today and there were 2 ladies there with their FW's. They were having a sew in I guess. They looked very new so I would have to guess they were not the antique kind. I saw a lady at the Georgia Sewing Expo a few years back sewing on her FW in a cabinet and I fell in love with it right then and there. Ever since then I have been on the lookout for one but have not found one as of yet. Saw lots of antique stores that I can check out over the next few weeks that I am here for one.
Would love it if you bring yours. :-)

Ok, FW is in! Can anyone volunteer to show us a technique like PP or string quilting or scrap quilting??? What is your specialty?
Also please bring something for show & tell, a piece you're working on, fabric you want to match or get a consultation on with other quilters what have you. Also if we can stop getting acquainted and shopping we could have a sit n sew and work on a project.
Do we want to do a fat quarter swap, a pin cushion swap, a mug rug swap??
Do you have any other ideas that I can't think of, it's all our meeting and I am not going to be hurt if you have a great idea, I'll enjoy it and be greateful.
I'm really getting excited and I'm trying to have some surprises for everyone.

I think it would be fun to try an easy challenge. Here's what I'm proposing:
While at Intown for the meetup, we each go upstairs and pick out a very favorite fabric and buy two yards. We come back downstairs, cut it up so everybody gets some of each and then make something interesting from those fabrics plus one solid. Photos due on the board by September 1. The variety would be so much fun!!!!!! (We can see how many of us want to participate and perhaps buy less fabric, it just depends....)

Another goodie: this is Intown Quilter's policy on taking Joann's coupons:
Coupons
I have decided to keep accepting coupons from JoAnns but we only will accept the coupon from the back of the mailer that has your name printed on it and that is labeled 40% or less. We also only accept one coupon per visit and coupons must be used before their expiration date. There will now be a maximum yardage allowed with any JoAnn coupon of 5 yards. This means if you want to buy 7 yards for example, you will get your coupon discount on the 5 yards and pay full price on the next 2 yards. I am sorry if this change upsets anyone, but I think we all have to remember that it is very generous of us to even take the coupons at all, and unfortunately a few have really abused the use of these coupons, so I have to make some changes to insure the longevity of the shop.
Please make sure to cut out your coupon form the back of the mailer before you come into the shop so that you do not slow down the check out by having to cut it at the register.
As for our own IQ cards, they are good for 20% off all regularly priced merchandise and cannot be used on the same visit as using JoAnn's coupons.
No coupons can be used on special orders or sale items, coupons cannot be combined and there are no rain checks.

It's on my calendar & unless a problem arises with my Mom's health, I'll be there. Any kind of project sounds good to me, especially a swap of some kind; also a show & tell if time allows. Will decide on what food to bring later & will let you know. Also, if there are any others in the Middle GA area, let's see if we can get a car pool arranged!
