Maybe since they just remodeled some of the stores it will be a while before they redo those again. My advice to Wal-Mart would be to have a little more variety price-wise, not just the cheapest. They put the precuts and fat quarters in ours but there was not anything I could use.

our local one switched to a super about 2 years ago- no more fabric. :( Other one about half hour away has fabric but my friend said they are marking it down to get ready for the move across the street to a super Wal-Mart. Don't know yet if they will have fabric there.

I stopped buying Wal-Mart as the quality was really going down hill. But lately I'm seeing some of the newer styles being a better quality. The fqs and jelly rolls are still very thin.

Walmart has fabric that I can afford! I've also found that if you're careful.....and choose wisely......the quality is also good. Can't wait for it's return to our local store!

A few weeks ago I called all the Walmarts around here and no one has fabric.....yet. Hopefully they will! I'll be patient!

Yes, they are. There are 3 Walmarts in this town. 2 of them lost their fabric completely and the one on the north end was cut back. Last week the store started a total renovation and the fabric department is already twice it's original size. Seems the powers that be decided to listen to the customers instead of the demographics.

does returning fabric department mean just the packaged cuts of two yards or less? afraid that is what walmart will call the fabric department.

Thanks for the news. That means I won't have to drive 30 miles to get the neat fabric fat quarters they have now. Also they are now carrying jellyrolls . So will be looking forward to seeing it back in my own back yard.
