    The Koi is not a pattern, it is more of a method, we learned at Guild. It is similar to the positive/ negative daisy quilts shown here earlier. I found a koi pic and made templates of them and proceeded from there.

    The stitching is not Sashiko, but Big Stitch quilting, done with perle cotton. I love to use it as water!
