I love scrappy quilts. Everything just seams to go together when you put it with white! I think you will like it even more after it is quilted. Remember, it is not a quilt until it is quilted!!

I just finished a quilt like yours only I didn't use sashes between my blocks. I used Moda Scrap bag pieces and it is very pretty.
I think if your friend likes it you can't go wrong.

The only thing I would have done different is eliminate the sashing. But, I don't like sashing.

Your quilt is simple, to the point and I like the plan for white sashing but I like white in quilts. I think you are doing well stepping out into new territory. Let the adventures begin!

I have been doing scrappy all summer. So far...five in one stage or another of completion with another 3 or so to go. I just got desperate to clean out the little "junk" in my bins of fabric. I have found scrappy to be freeing as far as design and they are a good way to practice skills of cutting accurately, machine quilting and a venue to try a new pattern without investing new money for fabric. Be bold and try another sometime soon. There are many ideas posted her of beautiful scrappy quilts.
