I love your Sues. I'm working on one now for my MIL. I think it's the same pattern. I thought about doing a block for each month but that's not really what she wanted. She wanted one that looked old fashioned. I took my first block to work to show the Muslin Dr. I work for and she said, it's a bear. We all looked at each other. Sue had tan shoes on and the big hat. Dr. thought that was the bears foot and that the head filled up the hat. We all laughed soooo hard. She's always good for laugh.
