HELP!!!!
You can get them where they sell hair supplies, they are much cheaper than the quilt store. They are the metal cuved ones. I think they do a great job when you are putting the binding on by hand.

This is the type of clips I use. They are very inexpensive and I get mine at WalMart but Staples should have a similar product. The package looks different when I buy mine but the clip looks the same.

If you want to use the so-called quilting clips, go to the beauty supply house and buy the barrettes you use to make hair bows with. It seems to me that straight pins are a better choice--cheaper, less bulky and already on hand. froggyintexas

The clips are fairly expensive. I first used regular pins but then I found that sometimes I could not get the hole out.
I know use the big paper clips that are coated with plastic and they are working great.

I have tried the clips and they work but they do fall off when I'm pulling the fabric out and pushing back in. The fabric flap always gets smooshed off the board. Using the elastic bands everything stays in place and no fussing with it.

I have binder clips, but they are hard for me to open - might try the barrettes

Are these the clips you are telling me about -

You can get the very same barettes at dollar stores but just make sure they are square on the back end and not round.

I think those fabric clips they are talking about are really the metal hair clips I used to use on my daughter's hair, you open them up, put the fabric (or hair) in the middle then snap closed. You may even find them at the dollar stores for a fraction of the cost. Just an idea. Are we on the same page?

I think they are the same as those hair clips that snap open and closed, just marketed differently for quilters. Just like the gardening gloves that are being marketed as quilting gloves.
