Yes, it is the perfect hobby. I know about the knitting. I used to do that and had the same issue. quote-(Tried knitting, but there is no way I can handle yarn in July when it's 105º out!)

    welcome form Minnesota
chain stitches pieces cuts down on some of the clippings but at least if people see threads on you, they know you have been busy---just like dog hair---learn to live with it.. I have left quilt group meetings with masking tape pieces stuck to my shirt and not noticed til after I got home or even later

Well, I think this is the perfect hobby. I have been a sewer all my life and always enjoyed it, but quilting turned into a passion very quickly. It sparks creativity, and keeps my mind jumping with ideas for new projects. Have fun, hope you find this is the perfect hobby, too.

Quilting is not a hobby, it's a passion. Welcome to the board from Rhode Island.

Welcome from North Dakota!!! I'm the one that has thread hanging from me when I leave the house. Thought I would do better now that carpet is in, but I haven't been. Still catch myself throwing them on the floor. Bad habit, but great fun.
