Thank you Rebecca. I tend to personally most of the quilts I give as gifts in one way or another. That's probably one of my favorite parts actually.

Well actually I had only been working for him for less than 2 months at the time they got married. And now 4 months into the job, I have still only seen him about 10 to 15 times. He doesn't come up to my office much. Just a lot of phone calls and emails.

Thank you. You are welcome to use that border on anything you wish...that I didn't design it actually is a "log cabin variation" border as it was called in my quilt program.

I want to thank you all for your positive encouragement and comments on this quilt. It was a design I debated on for a couple weeks before making it. After a lot of debate I decided to go with it and was very pleased with how it turned out. I can't help but wonder how many of you actually counted the blocks to see how they tied into the date. Funny thing is, I counted, recounted, quilted and still recounted them to make sure they were correct before giving them the quilt and even counted them again in the pictures a few times after I gave it to them....like I was some how going to find an extra or missing block that was going to have to be fixed if it came out to the wrong number.

Its done, out of my hands and I am on to finishing up the koi pond quilt now.
    Happy Quilting!!

Your idea to incorporate the date in the design was inspiring. The quilt is gorgeous. Job well done!
I counted the blocks, not to see if you got it right, but for the placement. I loved how you did it and it looks so perfect.

Thank you. I did it based on a grid. The black blocks are 3", gray 6", blue 9". And tried to place them evenally throughout the quilt while trying not to have too much white space in any one area. Drawing it on an 8x11 piece of paper sure looks different than what it does finished. It looked too crowded but I was pleased with it in larger scale.
