Will send my pm, but not much of a Halloween person, so will tell my partner. I suppose a nice pumpkin would be fine, just not big on the rest of the stuff. Fall harvest, yep that it.

I moved a lot as a child and looking back it was interesting the way different areas "celebrated." While I did go trick or treating in some places, it others the community had a large party with food, harvest decorations, hay rides, costumes, and games (bobbing for apples was a favorite) and passed out candy for the children.
All made for wonderful memories of the fall season - that and my younger brother was born on the 30th of October - a birthday is always a good reason to celebrate.

When my son was younger I decorated like mad for Halloween -- and since I was a Den Mother, there were always parties with lots of games and fun. We even had a graveyard in the front of our house.

Over the years my faith life changed to a more traditional outlook and I guess that was a significant influence, but what really did it for me was 9-11. We were close enough to see the towers fall and knew many who were lost or who worked in the ruins. That was the year I threw out my graveyard and everything else. That year I had two pumpkins: one with the towers and one with a cross.

It is funny how different traditions and ways of celebrating are around the country....until I was an adult and out of college and working, I never heard of people not celebrating Halloween because of religious reasons. We were ( are) a Christian family and so were our friends and neighbors and we went out trick or treating. It had nothing to do with anything religious for us...it was dressing up in costumes and going to the neighbors houses for candy...we usually would carve a pumpkin a few nights before and put a candle in it and had a few pictures of pumpkins and black cats taped to the window.....at Girl Scouts, we would have bobbing for apples and stuff like that and in junior high in home ec class we would do candy or carmel apples....I do decorate but it's not scary...I have cute ghosts and pumpkins and scarecrows, and even my witch is cute haha.
