Yeah, another man quilter! Good luck Don. My partner is about your size and you are correct, a regular size lap quilt just don't cut it. Us big guys need big quilts. I made him foe Christmas a full size quilt for him to use as a lap quilt. One of these days ill get some pictures taken.

Fairly short trip for you. Not much farther for me.

my first quilt was going to be a lap size log cabin for my son. it somehow grew into a queen size quilt because i wanted him to be able to cover up while watching tv on his couch. it just kept growing and growing and growing. . . .

Whittle's is not too far from Bowling Green, KY, home of Western Kentucky University! I love Whittle's. They do have a website, but their fabric is even less expensive when you visit in person! I live in Owensboro, about 75 miles from Whittle's-an easy day trip!

HEY DON...hope you had a great trip...my wife and I have been tlaking about going to Whittle's for months now...We saw him at the Elizabethtown quilt show in September and reminded us of that much need trip...its only about 75 miles away for us....Did you get a nice haul...by the way since I last talked to you I have begun collecting old sad flat irons...have some really nice ones...my new favorites are two childrens flat irons that are 2 and 3 inches big...almost bought one saturday that weighed 40 lbs but was more like a truck stop than a door stop...hope life is treating you kindly...Jim

Can I move there too. I want to go! I don't do well shopping for fabric online. Actually we are very lucky we have many, many LQS to choose from..
