I think we should be able to produce cams now. maybe soon we will be able to reproduce the camstacks for some of those that are so prone to cracking.

On Election Day a neighbor said his company was getting a 3d printer. I was just thinking about replacement parts for some old machines. Shuttles for long bobbins.

I think the hard part will be getting people to sit down and design the camstacks into a format the 3D printers can use. That too will get easier. I have this idea that if we already have 3D printers, 3D scanners aren't far behind.

There was some talk of 3d scanners when I was reading about the printers. They're in a sort of preliminary stage at the moment, but they're there.
