I'm thinking I should move to the UK, perhaps the high price of fabric would cure my addiction.

So sorry, but the coupon expired yesterday, 09/30, so it is not longer valid. I'll try to remember to post the next time I get an email from them that has another coupon.

I was in England earlier this year and our same $10-12 quilting fabrics were selling for about double the price there. NOT a good place to buy fabrics.

Yikes!! at that price, I would probably not be sewing at all and would have to find a new favorite hobby.

So far I've done really good. Other than fabric for a class with embroidery and piecing in the same quilt; which I did finish the top. The only other fabric had been some needed flannel for rag quilts for all of these grand babies that I'm getting lately. I did buy a new toy, the Brother Scan n Cut, but at an event so not only was it a reduced price, it was no financing. I was amazed that it came in already, it wasn't supposed to come in till late Oct. That'll make life so much nicer rather quilting, applique, crafts, sewing, lots of things. I will be buying some fabric soon due to being commisioned to make purses and backpacks for nieces and nephews. Since its kind of a paying job it doesn't count. So far, I've only found one fabric that I could use out of my stash but still working on that. Its hard because my sister lives in WV and with me in VA and we have different tastes. I told her to remember, its about what the kids like and not her. She has a hard one on that one. But we'll work it out.

Its ok, if you fail and pat yourself on the back for recognizing it and for doing as good as you did for as long as you did and start all over again. I hope you had fun picking it all out.

At our LQS clearance means € 7.00 per metre (just over 1 yard) so about $ 9.50 a yard. Normal prices are $ 20.00 and up per yard.
Living here means shopping for fabric online. I purchase almost all fabric in the US. So Seaside gal, moving to the UK (or the Netherlands) only works if you can't get online

I know the cost of living in Europe is much higher, but Wow, I would have never thought the cost difference for fabric would be that much more. Is the shipping a lot too? I know on some sites here, if you spend X dollar amount, they will ship it free. Does that apply overseas too, if you buy in US? I wonder if the cost of fabric in Australia is like that? Yes, I too would prob. be a "sober" fabaholic, but mostly in remission, I'm sure.
