I had the same feeling about paper piecing till I finally got the guts to try. My 1st attempt was Jinny Beyer's Crystal Star. Made a few mistakes but not noticeable enough to redo. Still waiting to be quilted though.

I am amazed, you did a wonderful job. PP is one of the quilty things that just escapes me. I tried and tried and just don't get it. LOL
Fortunately there are so many other things to keep me happily busy, I don't miss being able to do this one. Congrats on your new skill and new love!!

Great job on your first PP. I like the fabrics and colors you used and the pattern was a bit hard for a first attempt, so fantastic job. I think my first PP had 6 pieces in it! I didn't realize that there were rules about what color/fabric we should use for PP. Have you gone to Paper Panache? You can get a free PP quilting lady there. Cute and a challenge.
Have fun with your next project.

Looks good. Once you figure out PP you'll love it, as you found out.

Paper piecing saved my sanity. When my husband of 41 years passed away I was needless to say in a pretty deep depression. A gal friend of mine talked me into taking a class on PP. She knew I needed to find something to do to keep myself busy. We had learned to quilt together many years ago. I have since made several pp blocks and will someday put them all together to make an orphaned block quilt. It has become my favorite way to quilt.

You did a really great job!! I could have never wrapped my brain around that one. I especially love the checked and striped block.
