For lots of HST's I use the grid method, otherwise I cut squares 1" larger, then sew diagonally, then cut, then square up.

I just finished a quilt with 4000 HSTs and I use Laundry Basket papers. I have tried everything and method. By far, the best and most accurate.

Check out Jenny Doans tutorials on YouTube or The Missouri Star Quilt Company website. ANYTHING quilting related she shows and explains in such a way that you will wonder why YOU didn't think of something as easy as that!

I have enjoyed using the easy angle rulers ever since ithey came on the market. Uses 2 (or more) strip right sides together. Select size strip you need for finished half square triangles, and the fabric strips of same size can be used to cut matching squares. After cut triangles are ready for stitching together with right sides together, with accurate scant 1/4 inch seam. Has anyone else used this ruler? Comes in three sizes to accommodate your HST choices.
