Well, after a good night's sleep and my chapel hour, I came back to this topic. Googled hollow quilt blocks and viewed Penny Halgren's video. It's great tutorial.

I love pink and orange together and on this black...sigh...
We don't have it at out Hobby Lobby, or I am sure I would have jumped on it! SLURP!
off to look up hollow quilt blocks.
Glad she didn't say, hollow quilter's blocks. Would sound like part of quilter was hollow. Only my tummy sometimes.

Wow, that's just the kind of thing I look for for one block wonders---I love to make those! This piece has excellent color range and varied sizes in the printed elements. I particularly like that it has no overt extra light or white areas. I reject so many fabrics that would otherwise be great for OBW---but I just don't care for the resulting splashes of white. This will be so fun to do...congrats on your beautiful squishy.

You can find the book One Block Wonder Encore at Connecting Threads for $14.00 that shows how to do the hollow blocks. I thoght that was a great price! That fabric is perfect for the OBW!! You'll love doing it Amma!

There are several types of hollow blocks explained in the book Jan mentioned. I wondered if I do a tute on one type just to whet your appetites so to speak, will I be breaching the author's copyright? Anyone know or should I go ask Patrice? I am planning on doing some more today so thought I'd take pics of the stages and post a tute later on. :D
