    OH I am going to sound soooo dumb...but I have to ask! I thought tea dyeing meant you dyed white/light fabric with tea to make it an off white, beige, tan etc color. I dont understand how you make it red.

    Magic! Sorry couldn't help it. Of course I could have said red tea since there is green tea.
    But, No, I took the red fabric and tea dyed it to make it a bit darker. The red I had and could find was too bright for the rest of the quilt. It worked. I'm sure it would work with all colors.
