I showed the video to my dear husband. He laughed, and agreed it is a good use of the time. He figured it was better to take up quilting on the road than try to fish (his hobby) while out on a trucking run. He told me that the quilting is still my job, and bringing home the groceries is his - so he is 'going to fish, thank you.'

I used to be an truck driver at the time I didn't sew much but I sure did a lot of jewelry making crocheting, and bead embroidery. Truckers get such a bad rap it was extremly nice to see a article that showed truckers in a good light for a change

Great story, and he does beautiful work, but I don't get the title "Quilting Is Where This Trucker Wants to Bee" - just a grammar error?? Or some deeper meaning I missed??

Very glad to see this.In the past, to many men spent their time in bars and such.At least he will stay out of trouble doing quilting. Some men do better work than some ladies. One lady I used to know got her husband interesed in doing the cutting for her. Then he decided to try quilting and he made some beautiful quilts. He used to give quilts to their church, for raffles.

We had two gentleman in our town that made beautiful quilts and always won ribbons at the shows, unfortunately both are now deceased. Roy's wife didn't sew at all. He made both of his daughters wedding dresses. He passed away about three years ago and we really miss seeing his quilts in the annual fall fair quilt show. He reallly had a special knack for putting colors together. Harvey only did hand quilting, and his wife pieced the quilts. His won many ribbons as well, and he did so many for raffles for charity. We miss both of their beautiful works .
