Thanks ladies. I just sewed on some scraps with her and I am totally amazed at the stitches.
Amma, thanks for the name ideas. I'm leaning towards Peggy Sue. That just kinda strikes me as a 50's name. I got her off of Ebay. I've been watching them for probably a month or better. Boy, it seemed like all the nice ones were going for 350-600 all of a sudden. And I wanted one that was in really nice condition and that had been serviced recently. So I just waited and I got her. I really liked the ones with the fancier gold decal, but once I got her and saw how clean and shiny she is, that doesn't seem to matter anymore. Good luck to all of you looking for one.

These were the most popular names in 1955

Linda

Oh Linda, I like Linda best!

I am currently looking at one that is a 221-1 for about $249. I am not sure if that is a fair price or a little high. What do you think?

Congratulations! She sure looks like she is in good shape. I have 2 treadles that my step father refurbished. One was my grandmothers and the other I bought from him (at a really reduced price of $200). I cherish both machines. Take good care of her and she will last a lifetime.
