think cool! I love the red hat My aunt is in the red hat club for older ladies.(I might qualify for pink)but I bet if you showed this to the red hat club they would love it too!
Thanks to all for your compliments. I did machine applique both in a small satin stitch with rayon embroidery thread. I didn't have sufficient fabric to cut the 12-1/2" background sky for the 24 blocks. I had to cut the background at 11", so that's the reason I made the attic window half border, bringing the blocks to 12-1/2" unfinished. The miniature quilt the Snowy Quilter is holding is 3-D. I fussy cut the 2-1/2" x 3" quilt print from some fabric I purchased 8 (wow, that long ago) years ago, backed it with a neutral fabric and then satin stitched it on when I sewed on the mitten. I did have a problem trying to show the thumb of the mitten while attaching the quilt, so I decided that the mitten thumb would be behind the quilt, thus unseen (a creative solution!). Also, I only found 14 small brown buttons in my button jar and that's the reason the Boyfriend has his top hat jauntily covering one eye! I will be mailing the 24 blocks to the organizer next week and then will start on the Santa Swap. I think it's so wonderful to make winter themed quilts in the summer months so they are ready for the first snowfall. Of course that means in November we all should be starting our summer flower garden quilts! So glad you liked my Snowy Couple. Belles
They are adorable. My favorite kind of snow and snowpeople are quilted! I live in PA and I hate snow and cold. It makes my fingers/hands ache and makes the roads so dangerous...but the quilted kind is wonderful!
