You've got some fabrics and tools already. You can use the search feature here to look for threads about new quilters and the tools they need.

Good luck! :)

Thanks - I notice that the more i am here, the more information i need to know just pops up. Thanks for suggestions

Welcome from Illinois. Since you're a newbie I'd like to recommend books by Eleanor Burns. She can teach you to make beautiful quilts and she's simplified them so that anyone can make them. She's a "step by step" person so that helps. Judy Martin is another one that's good. She will show many different layouts of the blocks in her books. She also does very scrappy quilts that you don't need a huge stash for.

Hi Sundar! I'm new to quilting, too! Though I'm working on the first one, my mind is two or three ahead--I'm always seeing a quilt I want to add to my list! Have you decided what you'll do first?

I'm also a neophyte sewer. I learned to use my machine better by taking it with me to classes at a local shop that sells sewing machines and offers classes (I didn't take a quilting class at the time, but I may soon! I made a pillowcase dress for a toddler and a pair of pj pants!). It was great for getting more familiar with my machine.
