I have a house full of walls that need painting if you feel the need to do any more. Great job and I, too, love the color.

Beautiful color on the walls and your DH did a fine job on the picture rails!! The wait was well worth it for your fabulous sewing room.

Beautiful color. I like your frame.
When you hand quilt on a frame, do you start at the edge (outer border) or do you start in the center? Just wondering.

It is a Hinterberg 3 roll frame from an "Easy-build Kit". It was already made many years ago when the kit only cost $39.95 (it now costs $69.).

My DH bought it from a lady who could no longer do handquilting. I don't know exactly how old it is, but I would guess about 10-15 years old but is still in perfect condition! Since he bought this as a surprise birthday present for me, I never got to meet the previous owner.

This is my first quilt on this type of frame...
I've always heard that you can start from one side and quilt to the other side with a frame.

However, since there is no tensioning on the sides of this frame, I decided to start at the center and work outwards towards both sides.

I may buy some tensioning clamps in the future...we'll see how this goes...

This frame has so many cogs on the ratchet wheels that it really is easy to get perfect tension from front to back and I don't notice much looseness at the sides...but I thought I'd start in the middle just to make sure that any fullness gets worked to the outer edge.
