I took some cheapo flannel and taped it to the wall. The fabric sticks right to the fabric when it is just blocks. As you start sewing the blocks together and making the pieces bigger it can get heavy, so I just use some strategically placed straight pins to hold them on the wall at that time. Most pieces that are smaller than say 18" x 18" will stick on their own without the pins.

The blocks you see on my wall right now are just holding onto the flannel by themselves.

Some people use batting instead of flannel...I think things would adhere better to the batting...but since I used flannel, that's what is still up on my design wall.
I used a cheapo plastic tablecloth with a flannel/felt like backing and put grommets in it then hung it up on the wall with cup holders.

I just finished a queen-size quilt and waiting for my ordered batting to arrive before I can put my next quilt in the frame.

Time to do some scrappy sewing and use up some of the scraps...

So I've been making 6.5" scrappy log cabin blocks...

I do not have a design wall, but use my dinning room table. Trying for the first time to make a pinwheel. Having fun using my favorite material. The squares are 6 1/2" which is not really big and i still have material left over. Why i say that, is cause i DID NOT WANT to cut my fat quarters encase i needed them for something which needs the whole square. Decided to just use them and enjoy. I am VERY PLEASED I DID.
