    Here's my trick when I used to make granny afghans: If you have to make 30 of something then you figure the percentage that you have made and the percentage that you have to make. So, if you are 70% done, you have 30% to go. Then figure out how much of that 30% you have to do to make it to 75% done and 25% to go. If you break it down, it keeps you going from milestone to milestone. (I used a cacklater as my son used to say!)

    Yeah, I'm breaking it down into chunks. I did ALL of the light/dark 4-patch blocks, then 24 of the flying geese, then 24 of the triangles, then 5 of the centers, etc.

    I know how many of each are done and how many I need to do... it's all in my head. ;) (plus scribbled on scraps of paper on my sewing table)
