My Dogs Don't Sleep

Oh, how cute is that!
Talking about dumped dogs, Mama had dumped cats that she truly loved. Someone dumped a pregnant cat at her driveway. She fed her and she then had two of the prettiest kittens. One with no tail and another with just a stub. The mother cat then got run over by a car. Mama named the kittens: Bunny and Stubby. They went on to have....well you know the story. When Mama went to the nursing home, they were all tame....but not now. But over the last almost 5 years, my DH and I have kept them fed everyday. There's about 7 there now. The health department told me to just quit feeding them, and they would go somewhere else. I just can't do that. Once this past month, the snow kept us away and they came out from everywhere when we did get there to feed them. I just can't let them starve and there's no one in the county to pick them up.
They are my babies now, I guess until, until the estate is put up for sale in the spring and Medicaid takes it. I hope someone will feed them then. Love my animals.

Wow, such nice work!!! So glad you also rescue those strays. On Saturday we adopted a stray from the local Humane Society. She is a Pharaoh Hound. We've named her Cleopatra (Cleo) and she's such a dear!!!

how cute is That! when we lived on the farm, we were deep in the country. It was remarkable how many dogs were let go out there. Our neighbors had four dogs - all left in front of, or near, their house. The way our property sat on the road made it inconvenient for dumping. (although we had three dogs, but all our own.) But, isn't that amazing how folks just drop off their dogs like that? Even little ones! I think people believe that at least the dogs have a Chance, vs taking them to the pound...
