if you get in the habit of snipping off a bit of scraps ( maybe an inch or so ) from the inital cutting process and pinning them together with a big safety pin, then putting them in an envelope ( to keep them clean) before putting it into your purse. That way, when you are shopping, you have all the fabrics in your quilt right in front of you. Also, write the pattern on the front of the envelope too!!

I noticed one of the flyer's from? somewhere mentioned Kona cotton with a 200 thread count. I didn't know it came in different thread counts?
This has brought up a question about quilt fabric in gereral... maybe I will start a new thread..

I would take three or four of your dresden plates to JoAnn's or your LQS, take several "whites" to the home decor dept.(joann) and place your dresden plates on each one....you will know which one looks the best with your designs.

I used Kona cream on my Dresden Plate for the very reason you are stating...I LOVE Kona!! It turned out beautifully. Any of the creamier colors would probably work well. I try to never use white in large amount on quilts just because of spots that might get on it and show so easily.

I am making a dresden also and I went with Kona cotton and it looks cream to me and I got it for 30% off at Hobby lobby, I have put all my plates on it and I am waiting for my Sq ruler to get here now. I posted at picture on here of in process. I will post again for you under pictures. I use you id when I start the meessage. Hope this helps.
