    Looks like we've all been there. I now use painters tape to mark the wrong side of my fabric pieces and sticky notes on my machine to note the needle position used for a particular quilt: a 1/4" or scant 1/4" seam.

    I am new to quilting, and fortunately rarely have real deadlines, but I decided once I have to spend more than a few minutes with the seam ripper, then its time to stop for the day.

    When I took my very first quilting class, the instructor advised us to call that nasty thing an "unsewer" because we'd feel better about having to undo what we'd spent hours doing. It worked and I am now a champion unsewer.

    Just did that with the back binding on my QAYG. Was so mad at myself. Took it off, and ALMOST put it on wrong side out again. Luckily I double checked.
