And it it lovely...no it is gorgeous. I would not have considered those soft colors for a Hunter's Star but they are perfect with the consistent black. It is a winner for sure. Are you going larger or adding borders?

I am adding borders that completes the stars on the edges so they look floating in the borders. Sometimes things in my head don't turn into a good reality, but I'm hoping this one will!

LAF, that quilt is stunning! I like the color combination too.
Thank you for the sashing color thoughts all. I no longer have any objectivity with projects after staring at them too long, really helps to have others' eyes.

WMUTeach, thank you for that advice! -- you are so right. Darn, I do know about using the black and white on my phone to check for contrast and for some reason didn't think of doing that with this project and would have really helped. Even just seeing it in thumbnails as I posted it here makes it more obvious there's no contrast lines. Yours is so striking with the fall colors and the white sashing. I will do the sashing on mine but I don't think that will totally save it -- oh well it was a live-and-learn project.

Oh, goodness, I remember you saying that about the floating half stars on the border. Maybe the VQW thread last weekend? An example of short, really short, memory just floating away. I hope it works too because it will be a beautiful finish.

Good morning. I’m surprised my package hasn’t arrived yet but maybe it will today. Am loving all the photos! I’m not working on my candies as I’m consumed by the Boom swap right now but I live in hope of quilting one of my completed candy tops one day soon.

Hope you all have a lovely week.

I would not be surprised to find our package has arrived. Gaijin, may be waiting for a whole collection to post at the same time. Mail does seem to be faster that in the past year. Maybe it is the lovely little EV mail trucks that I am seeing zipping about.

I am listening to the sandhill cranes clacking away as they fly past. Must have a nest near by. Time to move on to the day's tasks then get stitching after doing some house chores.

    Stitch on everyone.

Hi everyone! I am completely swamped with the last week of class and a crazy amount of grading that has to be done. I have not mailed my birthday candies to Gaijin yet but I see the package every day so I don't lose track of it. No quilting done at all but it looks like you all have been in overdrive to give me lots of eye candy. I appreciate your efforts to keep me entertained because I know you are doing it just for me to have inspiration :-) I hope to return the favor soon. Quilty hugs everyone!

Hi Everyone - just poppin in to notify that birthday candies were sent out to Gaijin on Monday. I'm still in recovery mode after my ER visit. Trying to manage my healthcare and my disabled husband and working fulltime. But God is good and I continue to rely on Him for strength! Hope everyone has a lovely day and weekend. I plan to carve out some sew time this weekend and that sounds delightful!!

LAF - lovely spring colors. Hunters is on my list - for one day - and your colors are inspiration
Pamelar- we are so alike. go to all the work and our head sees it "it" until we put it together. personally i would not sash but do extra quilting with a bright color on the black/white
I walked to PO and sent out the birthday candies.
My arm is still in brace but started PT thus week. No lifting or pushing and cant raise it up; so no sewing. I feel like my life is in holding pattern, but this too shall pass. DH is good. I am learning to laugh when he forgets my limitations. yesterday he did fill pot with water, but left corn unshucked!
    enjoy those cherry blossoms
