I found this pattern called Massachusetts star, I think I have seen it also called Sunshine and Shadow. One for Hav4 boys in black and red, another for Terriamn with green, and my first for Macybaby. It’s kind of amazing how different fabrics make this block look so different. Hugs all!

I thought it was called sawtooth star but it didn’t turn up when I tried to find it. I made a quilt with this pattern in back background and batiks, so I just used thangles and laid it out like my quilt blocks. It works really well with 2 color quilts. Here is a snapshot of the block with the black and batiks. Love the tea party blocks! Hugs!!

Oh! I made that same Massachusetts block for Terri! It's a tricky one. Your two fabrics have to totally contrast for it to look "half and half". I don't think I totally pulled it off.

I just looked at yours I didn’t realize it was the same, I don’t think I had enough contrast for Macybaby’s either. It is very tricky, I agree.

AQ, teapots and teacups! How fun.

GramE, love your Waltzing Matilda and the Table Setting block. I laughed at your comment about Chicken Dinner. I cannot count the number of times my kids said, "Winner, Winner, Chicken Dinner" when we sat down for a chicken meal.

A Massachusetts star is one of my go-to blocks. I love them.

Today DGD Charlie and my son are coming for dinner. It'll be crazy around here for a few hours. She really gets revved up when she visits. We got her a little collapsible tent to play in. It's going to be rainy all day so I hope she likes it.

Have a happy rest of your weekend, Azaleas!
