Whew!! what a lot of creative, crafty ideas for Christmas. I believe the homemade gift is the best choice that says "I care" in capital letters. Loved getting recipes, pot holdlers and any thing homemade, especially the candy. Thanks to everyone who shared their creative thoughts here.

I often made paperback book covers, quiltpillows, stockings for Christmas. Last Christmas daughter was single adult, we made new 'adult' big Christmas stockings together and had a ball. All three of our children have received king or queen sized quilts from us. Also close friends have received theirs from us. Waiting list just keeps on going and growing, never ending story.

Warning: if you start a new idea of gift giving with crafts, it may catch on big time, and people will expect it every year!!!

I know what you mean about if you start doing something everyone expects it every year. I have done Christmas Ornaments for our family for years. The last couple of years I keep telling myself that I'm not doing it anymore because I've ran out of ideas that I like. But then I feel so QUILTY thinking I'm not gonna do it, that I actually find something to make.
