Yeah, we used to fill our pillow cases and go home and dump them and go back out again LOL. My parents used to give out apples, remember when you could actually do that!!! We went back to our own house a few times just to get extra ones!!

I remember being able to catch a ride from Toms River to Pine Beach, a few miles, and not worrying about being attacked. only we girls use to hitch the rides and the guys would hide near the side of the road. LOL poor people ended up with about 10 kids in the car.

Our children and grandchildren are missing out. When I tell them of the things I did growing up in the 50's they really don't believe me....

Do you remember the dresses? Heavens hardly ever wore pants - maybe peddle pushers sometime - Oh! Did you ever see "Corrina, Corrina" - those were the dresses we wore - loved 'um!

Oh, what fun we had! My candy would last me all winter. Much different now for my grandkids - just not safe for them like it was for us.
And we ran around town all by ourselves with no parents and after dark also.

i remember on a long car trip my sister & i would flip a coin to see who got to sleep on the back seat & who got to sleep up on the back deck under the back window...

it as great for star watching & even better in the rain..
