Funny story!
Auction in local paper [really close to home].
Shelves of material; yards and yards! Some for everyone.
We're going ! [Mom; a quilter and me; a pecier of blocks and quilt tops].
At the last moment, just before heading out the door, my husband decides to go with us. He was scared. He knew the story of Uncle John cleaning out Aunt Cicis' material and what the Vega [small old Chevy] looked like filled to the roof.
He would be kind enough to drive us.
Out comes our 1966 Corvair convertable. The trunk is in front of the car.The top is down.
I'm mad!
Can't buy much. Three people. Top down. Can't put alot in the trunk. Need to see over the windshield.
We leave.
Find the auction.
Material is in the basement There is tons and tons of the stuff.
Jay says, 'I'm glad to see you here; spend lots of hubbys' money'.
How are you going to sell it? We ask.By the pile, or shelf,.
Mom and I hurry to the basement! We can't hardly contain our excitement!
There is sooooooooo much fabric! Yard and yards ! Shelves and more shelves.
Mom and I walk closer to get a better look and plan out our bidding and what we want to purchase.
We are quilters! We love quilters toys.We love patterns, books, threads. We need rulers,Cutting tools, mats...ect.
A further look at the fabric. .......OH NO!..... This can't be!
ALL THE FABRIC IS DOUBLE KNIT! A RUG WEAVERS DREAM!

Our only purchase was a quilters cutting mat. Linda
