What a wonderful piece of history. $5.00???? Unbelievable!!! The fabrics look like they are from the 1950s.

Fun fun! I also wonder why people get rid of stuff like that. But lucky for you!

What a great deal you got on this quilt, very pretty. Sorry, I can't help you with dating the fabric.

If anyone can date the fabric by looking, I would appreciate it. It was a church yard sale so no one knew who donated it. Wish I knew its history.
There is one hot pink flower, so it looks like it might not be much older than the fifties...when was flourescent dye first used in fabrics?
Otherwise, it is impossible to tell from the photo because the details are too small.

Yes, it is crewel work and I did it about 45 years ago. In fact, I made two of them -- one for me and one for my sister. It is my favorite. I love leopards and jaguars.

Hi! I have a partial quilt top (due to a fire) that was my mothers years ago. I hope to redo some of it and finish it one of these days. Mine is put together by each circle of flowers, hard to explain, feel sure it is at least 75 years old too.

I would say the 50s, but that is just a guess.
