Hi and Welcome from a neighbor in Portland, Oregon. I think what you're doing for your friend is awesome.
Just to let you know a few of us from Oregon & SW Washington here on the Quilting Board are meeting in Astoria towards the end of October for a "girls quilting/chatting/eating/and whatever else we can do retreat. Perhaps you could stop by and get to know some of us. We would love to meet you.
