What a wonderful find for you. Hope you finish them and enjoy or give them to someone who will enjoy them. I think I'll be in the same position when I pass. Too much stuff for the kids to take and enjoy. Hope they will give my things to people who will enjoy them and not sell at garage sales or give to Goodwill!

I see #4 has a couple of different names. It doesn't matter to me what the name is (until I want to do one), but #4 is My Favorite.
Imagine all hand-pieced. Glad you saved them :)

I knew #1 wasn't friendship star, but did not know it was periwinkle of Ark snowflake. The quilter alternated the colors on the side to bring our the kaleidoscope effect.

#5 The block that was identified as seven sisters is probably incorrect. Seven sisters has seven six pointed stars in a hexagon. However I do not know what it is. I have misplaced my book for identifying quilt patterns

I am unfamiliar with #4, (churn dash, monkey wrench, or hole in a barn door), spiderweb, and rail fence are correct.

For the spider web pattern go to quiltville.com (Bonnie Hunter). She has a really easy to follow pattern which I have used myself. It's one of my favourites

ask the boys' wives first. smile.

My mom and I were talking about this today. She crochets all the time and I do not care for afghans so I told her when she passes I will donate them or pass them along. I have more than I need and some from her. The same with her quilts I have more than I need and some from way back I am sure my kids will not treasure them (5 boys) so whatever will be will be. I am sure there is someone that will be happy to have them. I can not keep all of them.
