    If there is a lot left I pin it to the fabric I cut the binding from. Usually I do like most of the quilters do and use leftover binding for scrappy quilts. Sometimes when doing string quilts I raid the leftover binding box for some strips. May in Jersey

    I always make extra binding. I keep it for all small projects so that the binding is already made and I don't have to take time to make the binding for the pot holders, wall hangings, mug rugs, etc.

    I started making these little "pillowcase" dresses for little girls in the tropical isles like Haiti and the Dominican Republic. If I have two 32"lengths of left over binding they work great to finish the armholes and make the ties for the dresses. I can actually get double out of the binding as it is twice as wide as needed. I just cut it down the middle crease and make two sets of bindings.
